1. 학과 소개

약학은 약에 관한 모든 것을 다루는 학문으로 약의 개발, 생산, 사용 및 평가에 이르는 전과정에 대해 연구하는 학문이다. 인간의 생리 및 병리현상을 이해하고, 약으로 사용될 수 있는 물질을 찾아내며 약이 가지는 치료 효과의 원리와 안전하고 효과적으로 사용하는 방법에 관해 연구하는 분야이며, 최근 빠른 사회변화 속에 경쟁력있는 글로벌 혁신신약개발의 트렌드에 따른 빅데이터, 유전체 정보, 맞춤형 치료연구, 약물 재창출 및 융복합연구를 기반한 바이오헬스산업에서 K-Pharma가 주도적인 역할을 하고 있다. 제주대학교 대학원 약학과에서는 제주가 보유한 다양한 생물자원을 활용한 유용소재·식의약품개발 및 제약산업을 이끌 핵심리더 양성을 목표로 약학과 석사과정, 박사과정, 석·박사과정을 2022년 신설하였으며 제약바이오산업분야 전문연구인력을 양성하고자 한다.

1. Introduction

Pharmacy is a science that deals with all things related to medicine and studies the entire process from drug development, production, use, and evaluation. It is a field that understands human physiology and pathology, finds substances that can be used as drugs, and studies the principles of therapeutic effects of drugs and how to use them safely and effectively. K-Pharma is playing a leading role in the bio-health industry based on big data, genomic information, customized treatment research, drug repositioning, and convergence research according to development trends. The Department of Pharmacy, the Graduate School of Jeju National University, has established a master's program, doctoral program, and complex program including master's and doctor’s in 2022 with the goal of developing useful candidates for functional/medical-food and drug development using various biological resources native to Jeju. The aim is to nurture professional research personnels and key leaders who will lead the pharmaceutical-bio-industry.
