1. 학과 소개

1999년에 신설된 대학원 관광경영학과는 레크리에이션, 여가, 및 관광 분야의 전문가 혹은 관리자로서의 자질을 함양할 수 있도록 프로그램을 갖추고 있다. 세계화 정보화 시대의 관광산업 분야에서 필요한 전문가를 양성함으로써 국가 인력개발 및 인력수급계획에 기여하고자 하는 것을 교육목표로 삼고 있으며, 우리 대학교에서는 우리 학과를 특성화 분야로 지정하여 집중 육성하고 있다.

 

2. 교육목표

관광경영학과는 세계화와 정보화시대의 관광

 

산업 분야에서 필요한 전문가를 양성하여 국가인력개발 및 인력수급계획에 기여하는 것을 교육목표로 삼고 있어 이에 부응하기위해 관광에 관한 일반이론, 관광정책, 관광사업 경영의 이론 및 실무, 현장실습 그리고 집중적인 전산교육 및 어학교육을 통해 관광분야에서 필요로 하는 전문경영인을 양성하고 있다.

 

3. 특징

학과의 교과과정은 관광관련 교과목을 중심으로 경영학 분야에의 접근이 용이하도록 편성되어 있으며, 영어, 일어, 중국어 등 외국어 교육 및 PC를 이용한 정보화 교육을 강화하고 있다. 본과에는 외국인(外國人)교수가 관광영어를 담당하고, 원어강의로 진행되는 전공과목도 있다. 한국인 교수와 외국인이 영어(English)로 강의를 개설하고 있기 때문에 국제화 세계화를 표방하는 학과의 특성을 잘 반영해주고 있다.

 

4. 진출분야 및 전망

학과 전공을 이수하였을 때 총지배인 자격증, 관광교사 자격증, 관광통역안내원 자격증, 1, 2급 지배인 자격증, 호텔종사원자격증, 국내관광안내원자격증, 1, 2급 전산관련자격증 등을 취득 시 유리한 조건을 갖출 수 있다. 또한 졸업하고 대학원 진학 후 학계와 관광관련 연구소로 진출하여 관광에 관한 전문지식을 연구할 수 있으며, 그 외 진출 가능한 분야로는 특급호텔의 관광호텔을 비롯하여 국내외 여행사 및 기타 관광관련업체를 우선적으로 들 수 있다. 또한 한국관광공사 및 국내외 항공사, 금융기관, 언론기관, 공무원, 그리고 일반기업체 등 다양한 분야로 진출 할 수 있다.

 

Department of Tourism Management

1. Introduction

Founded in 1999, Dept of Tourism Management of the Graduate School has programs designed to foster the qualities of recreation, leisure and tourism professionals and administrators. Jeju national university designates our department as a specialization field and develops it intensively. Curriculum is designed to facilitate access to business administration, focusing on tourism-related subjects, and is strengthening foreign language education such as English, Japanese and Chinese along with computer-based information education. Our department reflects the characteristics of the department that advocates globalization, as foreign professors teach tourism English and hold lectures in the original language.

 

2. Educational Objectives

Dept of Tourism management aims to contribute to the development of human resources and supply and demand of manpower by cultivating experts who fit globalization and information age in the field of tourism industry. To meet this goal, Our department is training professional managers required in the tourism field through general theory on tourism, tourism policy, theory and practice of tourism business management, field training, and intensive computer education and language education.

 

3. Education & Research field

Education & research field involve international tourism strategy (tourism company, regional tourism strategy, specialized theme tourism strategy: culture, events, ecotourism, etc.), tourism marketing (tourism company, regional marketing, etc.), tourism information (tourism information system, e-tourism), hotel management (accounting, investment, human resource management/dining out management, food and drink management, etc.), travel management (including airlines), and MICE (international conference, exhibition industry).

 

4. Postgraduate career options

They enter tourism or tourism-related research institutes to study tourism expertise, and enter hotels, travel agencies and other tourism-related companies. If you acquire a hotel general manager's qualification, tourist teacher's qualification, tourist interpreter's qualification, manager's qualification, hotel operator's qualification, domestic tourist guide's qualification, computer-related qualification while taking your major, you will have a favorable condition for entering tourism field. Besides You will be able to various fields such as the Korea Tourism Organization and airlines, financial institutions, press, civil servants, and general companies.s
