1. 학과 소개

경제학은 일상생활에서 접하는 경제현상을 심층적으로 분석하고 예측하는 학문이다. 따라서 본 학과에서는 양질의 교육서비스를 제공함으로써 경제학적 사고를 배양하고 경제이론의 습득과 응용을 통해 국제화시대에 걸맞은 경쟁력을 갖춘 경제전문가를 양성한다.

 

2. 교육목표

 경제학은 경제주체가 희소한 자원을 이용하여 재화와 서비스를 생산 · 분배 · 소비하는 과정에서 발생하는 경제문제를 연구하는 학문이다. 국제화 및 지역화를 적극 수용하여 글로벌 인재, 경제 분야의 전문지식과 기업실무를 이해하고 현장적응력이 뛰어난 실무형 인재, 경제학 외에 경제학 관련 분야 지식을 총괄하는 통섭적 능력을 가진 융합형 인재를 양성하는 것을 목표로 하고 있다.

 

3. 주요 연구분야

우리 경제학과의 주요 연구 분야로는 지역경제, 노동경제, 미시경제 및 거시경제, 경제학사, 계량경제 및 국제경제 등의 다양한 부분으로 세분화 되어 있으며 일상생활의 문제를 다루면서도 가장 정밀한 연구방법을 갖추고 있다.

 

4. 진출분야 및 전망

급변하는 국제경제 환경에 대응하기 위하여 공공기관 및 기업은 기획, 정책수립 등 핵심 분야에 있어 경제학의 기초지식을 절실히 필요로 함으로써 경제학도에 대한 사회적 수요는 계속 증가 추세에 있다. 이에 따라 경제학과 학생들은 졸업 후 정부기관, 금융기관, 증권계, 경제외교가 중시되는 외교계, 공기업, 사기업 등 여러 활동분야로 진출할 기회를 갖게 된다.

1. Introduction

The study of economics includes in-depth analysis and prediction of economic phenomena in all facets of everyday life. This department provides high-quality economics education in order to cultivate economic thinking and develop experts equipped to navigate the globalized economy.

 

2. Educational Objectives

Economics is the study of problems that arise due to scarcity of resources in producing, distributing, and consuming goods and services. Our aim is to cultivate international talents who understand the forces of globalization and localization, who have high level of professional knowledge including business practices in the field of economics, and who possess a well-rounded ability to handle interdisciplinary topics in addition to classical economics.

 

3. Education & Research Fields

Our major research fields include regional economics, labor economics, micro- and macroeconomics, econometrics and international economics. The department faculty utilize and teach various research methods and explore research questions relevant to our daily lives.

 

4. Postgraduate Career Options 

In order to respond to the rapidly changing international economic environment, public institutions and companies urgently need employees with basic knowledge of economics for proper planning and policy making, ensuring an ever increasing demand for economics education. As a result, after graduation, students studying economics will have much opportunity to enter into various fields, such as government agencies, financial institutions, diplomacy, and public and private enterprises.
